Beverly C.'s Story
To those who knew me: In high school I was in XLO & barely graduated. I was suppose to go to Southwestern U. and at last minute, I froze & went to UNO, not making the grade! Wandered around a few years doing various jobs & wind up working as Petroleum Landman & realized that I had a knack for law! Traveling & doing field work in the '70's & '80's in Oil & Gas, until the bottom fell out in the mid 80's. I became a real estate agent with Martha Ann Samuel in the Garden District area, until I was pulled back to the Oil & Gas business in '92. I managed a small O&G minerals company until retiring in '97 & moving to MS to work, live & help my parents with their O&G fields. I was brought back to N.O. a few years later by my BF & married him in 2000, only after 14 yrs of...Expand for more
ups & downs! We are Uptown by Audubon Park & I have become his (his home) contractor, renovator, accountant, cook, wife, retiree, etc. We have no children & it is our first time being married - just two old bachlors! We purchased a farm outside of Hattiesburg, MS where we can fish, grow fruit/nut trees, berries & organic veggie's. If, we can ever sell our home here, we will be leaving but not forgetting the "Big Easy". Being married has left it's side effects on me, I have gone from a size 8/10 to over the XX's - never really cooked all these years & now its showing badly!!! Oh, I've had a few accidents since 2000 which didn't help, working on trying to improve the XX's, if you know what I mean!
